One of San Francisco’s most charming sailing traditions is Opening Day on the Bay. It marks the official start to the boating season here and this year more than 100 vessels participated. It’s quit a festive occasion with the entire maritime community taking part. Classic and contemporary craft mix with historic workboats, fireboats, historic towboats and more.
Each yacht club tries to outdo the other and it’s so fun to see how creative people can be with the theme. This year’s theme was “The Great Race.” Here are some of my favorites. Which is yours?
What a fun day on and off the water!
